A mediated group discussion
Carrier matches three participants. One participant is the mediator, and two participants discuss a policy question.
-
Create a chamberline
One chamberline is one condition. Give it the name of its condition, not a name that shows the order in which you made it.
A chamberline is added and named. -
Add a chamber and set its seats
Add three human seats: one mediator and two communicators. Matching waits until all three participants are ready.
The chamber gets its participant slots. -
Assign the mediator role
The mediator sees all messages and can pause the chat. The two communicators see only the messages of each other.
The mediator seat goes into the chamber, and its role is set. -
Open the link and join as a participant
Use three browser windows to see the matching and the roles. Each window must have its own cookies. Use different browsers or profiles, not tabs.
This chamber has no seat requirements, so the first participant to arrive gets the first seat. Here, the first window to complete the name screen gets the mediator seat.
The mediator does not get a chat box. The mediator can:
- Read the messages of the two communicators.
- Send a broadcast to the room.
- Pause the input of one participant from the menu next to that participant's name.
Mira gets the mediator seat. Ana and Ben discuss, and Mira sends a broadcast and pauses Ben for one minute.
