Rank, and see the group's ranking

Each person ranks the options on their screen. The average ranking of the group shows while they rank. Then the group discusses it.

  1. The options

Put a Rank segment in the chamber before the chat. Write the instruction.

Then write the options under Items, one option on each line. Use one of these formats:

    • Label.
    • Label | value, to keep a value of your own with the option.

Participants drag the options into an order.

    The three harbour options.
  2. Share the results

Data Sharing shows each person in the chamber the rankings of the other persons. The options are:

    • Real-time: the shared view changes each time a person moves an option.
    • Never: the rankings stay private. This is the default.

Results Display Aggregated shows the average ranking. Individual shows the ranking of each person.

Anonymous Results shows persons as Participant 1 and Participant 2, not by name.

This tutorial does not use After all submit. A ranking has no submit step, so this option shows the results when all persons have opened it.

    Real-time, averaged and anonymous.
  3. What participants see, and what is recorded

Each person ranks on their screen. The average shows below and changes while they drag.

All persons start from the order that you wrote. A list that nobody changed counts in the average as it is. Thus, before people drag, the average is nearer to your first option.

Each person goes to the chat with Continue.

The segment submissions in the export contain:

    • The final order of each person.
    • The values for that order.
    • If the person moved an option. Thus you can tell an unchanged list from an intentional one.
Both persons put more berths first. The average agrees.
